‘Naval Shaurya Museum’ Nears Completion in Lucknow; ‘Shaurya Vatika’ 65% Ready, Major Military Equipment Being Installed

Lucknow: The construction of the upcoming Naval Shaurya Museum in the IT City area of Lucknow is progressing rapidly, with nearly 70 percent of the work completed. Designed in the shape of a ship, the museum is emerging as a grand tribute to the strength, legacy, and pride of the Indian Navy.

The structure is being developed with naval architectural elements such as porthole-style windows, ship railings, and authentic naval equipment. A key highlight of the compound is the ‘Naval Shaurya Vatika,’ which is about 65 percent complete and will showcase historic assets including the TU-142M aircraft and Sea King SK-42B helicopter.  major equipment from INS Gomti—such as missiles, torpedoes, guns, and anti-submarine systems—has already arrived for installation.

A New Hub for Patriotism and Tourism
State Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh described the museum as a matter of pride not just for Uttar Pradesh but for the entire nation. He stated that the project will soon stand as a living symbol of the Navy’s bravery, sacrifice, and maritime power.

“The museum is being designed to offer visitors a real naval experience. Our aim is to promote tourism while also connecting the younger generation with the spirit of patriotism and the sacrifices of our armed forces,” Singh said. He added that a dedicated ‘Smriti Udyan’ is also being developed within the compound to honor fallen soldiers.

Modern Technology to Bring Naval History Alive
The museum will incorporate advanced technology to present India’s naval history, strategies, and key operations. Visitors will be able to experience interactive attractions such as aircraft carrier landing simulators, warship simulators, a 7D theatre, a submerged Dwarka model, digital water screen shows, and a marine life aquarium. Activities like “Dress Like Your Heroes” are also planned to engage younger audiences.

The Smriti Udyan, designed as a serene and meaningful space, will serve as a tribute to soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.

A Landmark Project for Lucknow
According to Amrit Abhijat, Additional Chief Secretary of the Tourism, Culture, and Religious Affairs Department, the project is being developed under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath. Located near Ekana Stadium in CG City, the museum is set to become a major attraction in the state’s expanding network of cultural and historical destinations.

Once completed, the Naval Shaurya Museum is expected to position Lucknow as a prominent center for tourism, education, and research, offering access to rare naval artifacts and hosting regular workshops and lectures.
